Topical Issues of International Security in Line with the CSTO Parliamentary Diplomacy

Abstract:
The article emphasizes that at the present stage of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is considered as the main interstate instrument to confront regional challenges and threats of military-political and military-strategic nature. It is stated that the participation of the CSTO member states, including the Republic of Belarus, in this integration association is in their national interests, promotes credibility in the international arena. It is noted that in the framework of countering non-military threats to the CSTO parliamentary dialogue may be regarded as the most important instrument and at the same time as an efficient mechanism to achieve the intended purpose . In this situation, the role of increases markedly as the Organization itself and its Parliamentary Assembly, as an effective instrument of “soft power†of the CSTO.
