Abstract: Wittmann Antal a m agyar reform kor egyik kiemelkedő egyénisége, Mosonmagyaróvár város neves polgára volt. Nem túlzás azt állítani, hogy korszakalkotó m unkásságot hagyott maga után. Az elmúlt 180 évben egyetlen gazdász sem végzett az Alma Materben, aki szellemi örökségéből ne hordana valamennyit a tarsolyában. Az agrártudományok és a termelési gyakorlat területén hatása európai léptékű. A városban utcát neveztek el róla. Em lékének az utódok szobor felállításával tisztelegnek. -------------- Antal Wittman, an outstanding personality of the Hungarian reformer age, was a notable citizen of Mosonmagyaróvár. It is no exaggeration to say that he left behind an epoch-making work. In the past 180 years no farmer left his Alma Mater without some of his spiritual inheritance in the bag. His influence in the fields of agricultural science and production methods can be measured on a European scale. A street is named after him in his city. His spiritual descendents raised his statue in his honor.
