Abstract:
In order to provide a perspective on the growth trajectory of Gujarat, this paper looks at the performance of Gujarat in terms of growth, particularly of the rural sector, specially in the period 2011-2020. We focus on the institutional initiatives taken in Gujarat and emphasise the modernized farm crop base. In such an environment commerce minded farmers can benefit in terms of organised farm economy activities and commercial engagement in rural areas. Our paper finds a result regarding not growth trends mimicking price but instead the benefit of growth of small commercial farming across a wide base of crops to create a viable surplus for commercial agriculture.
