Indian Journal of Agricultural Marketing, 2025, vol. 39, issue 1

Abstract: Innovation in agribusiness has emerged as a pivotal driver of transformation within the global farm economy. The integration of new technologies, practices, and business models is reshaping how agricultural production is organized, managed, and marketed. Key innovations include precision farming, biotechnology, digital platforms, and sustainable farming techniques, which are enhancing productivity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. These advancements have enabled farmers to optimize resource use, reduce operational costs, and increase crop yields. Furthermore, innovation is fostering new market opportunities, enhancing supply chain resilience, and supporting the growth of agro-based industries. The impact on the farm economy is profound, with innovations driving higher income levels, reducing risk, and promoting long-term sustainability. However, challenges such as accessibility, affordability, and the digital divide remain, necessitating policy support to ensure inclusive growth and equitable benefits across all farming communities.
