State Archives in the Face of the Pandemic Caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus: Pandemic Archive

Abstract:
The text presents the actions taken by the General Directorate of State Archives and the state archival network during the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Archives, as institutions whose mission is to permanently preserve the evidence of the past and ensure universal access to them in order to support the development of the state and civil society, organized the AD 2020 Pandemic Archive campaign. A social collection of documents of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). As a result of the project, a unique collection of materials will be created that comprehensively document the phenomenon of the pandemic in Poland from the perspective of both organizations and individuals, residents of cities and villages. The article also indicates other actions popularizing the national archival resource and activating the community gathered around the state archival network during the social isolation introduced as part of preventing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
