Village renewal in Poland - reflections after 25 years of program implementation
Richard Kaminski
Village and Agriculture (Wieś i Rolnictwo), 2023, vol. 200, issue 3
Abstract:
Recalling 25 years of the village renewal program in Poland, it is worth attempting a certain summary, recalling its inspirations and activities undertaken in various places in Poland. This was the purpose of the conference held in Gogolin in 2022. People involved in village renewal in Poland met there in various ways. The following article compares the author's reflections and conclusions from the perspective of a participant in the village renewal process, a trainer popularizing this program, a leader inspiring his activities in the rural area where he lives, and a researcher trying to capture the elements of the social change taking place on this occasion. In addition to an overview of these perspectives, there is also a reference to the inclusion of village renewal in the EU structural funds as a grant program financed from EU funds and the resulting complications, as well as positives.
