Abstract:
An experimental system was established to deliver medical care to families residing in a sparsely populated rural community. A family nurse practitioner located in a rural facility is linked to supervisory physicians at an urban location. Operational characteristics of the system components and the type of patients and medical problems for which care has been provided are presented.
