Monica Lambon-Quayefio, Robert Osei (), Abena Oduro and Isaac Osei Akoto

Working Paper from Agence française de développement

Abstract: There have been calls for a shift in policy focus towards economic inequality given that it can potentially generate social instability and be harmful to economic growth in the long run. The current study examines the contribution of inequality of opportunity in consumption inequality, schooling and learning outcomes. Through mediation analysis, the paper aims to isolate the mechanism through which consumption inequality affects education outcomes in Ghana.
