Abstract:
In 2017, the Texas State University Development Foundation board of trustees approved an ambitious plan to significantly change its relationship to the university and invest in the fundraising capacity of the university. The engagement of the board in the strategic vision of the university led the board to initiate a strategic planning effort to align the foundation’s resources in support of university goals. This paper details the process that led to and facilitated that change.
