Abstract: Determining programming and activities for regional networks/chapters can be an arduous process for some colleges and universities with the ongoing need to balance the goals of the institution with volunteer expectations. At the University of New Hampshire (UNH), members of the Alumni Relations team worked together to use demographic information and programme metrics to adapt the ‘Go, Give, Help’ alumni engagement score to apply to individual regional networks. Using this method provides full transparency and helps shift the dialogue with volunteers towards goals, objectives and priorities instead of relying on historical activity. This paper will outline the issue of network engagement, what steps were taken to develop the engagement scoring model for regional networks and how this model is currently being utilised at UNH.
