ESTIMATING LINEAR PRODUCTION COEFFICIENTS FROM FARM BUSINESS SURVEY DATA: A NOTE

A. Moxey and Richard Tiffin ()

Journal of Agricultural Economics, 1994, vol. 45, issue 3, 381-385

Abstract: This paper presents the results of three approaches to estimating linear production coefficients from sample farm data by apportioning total input usage between individual enterprises. It is suggested that the use of Bayesian priors to conduct constrained estimation is preferable to the use of Inequality Restricted Least Squares.
