Abstract:
Work groups in the industrial enterprises did not meet the high expectations from the 20th century. However, work groups play an important role in the implementation of comprehensive production systems. Its concrete form depends on specific organizational preconditions. On the basis of interviews in ten companies the paper concludes that standardisation and process optimization in production systems give little scope for far-reaching approaches of work groups.
