Abstract: Migration can be currently seen as an unstoppable trend that has caused different types of effects. The most visible ones are the economic ones, which can be observed both in the country of origin of the migrants and in their final destination. The Federal Republic of Germany is the number one destination in the European Union in terms of the number of immigrants who come to the country annually. Most of them come from member states of the European Union, which are predominantly located in Eastern and Central Europe. Effects of migration in Germany can be observed in several areas. For sure they affect the demographic composition of the population, fill the labor market deficit or they cause outflow of funds from country due to sending remittances back to their country of origin. As Germany is experiencing a year-on-year increase in the number of immigrants comming to country, it can be assumed that effects of migration will be most visible in this country.
