Abstract: The Fourth Session of the Economic and Social Council, which met at Lake Success from February 28 to March 29, 1947, considered matters which were mainly substantive in character, most of its organizational work having been completed at the third session. Questions discussed ranged from urgent short-term problems, such as the reconstruction of devastated areas, to those of a long-range nature such as world freedom of information and an international bill of rights.
