Abstract: The land fund is an important natural resource, in it’s own nature and specificity, different from other goods, and it refers to land areas located within the territorial limits of a state. Romania has a significant development potential but with little use, holding 0.18% of the world surface occupying 17th place, and 5.41% of the European surface occupying 12th place. In the past 20 years, the manasgement of the Romanian land fund was poor, not taking into account the conservation of land resources and their effective capitalization. The laws governing the land fund were incorrectly applied, in an uneven way, causing damage to the population and the budget state.
