"Jobs under Fire": Beschäftigung in von Konflikt bedrohten und fragilen Staaten

Abstract: This paper aims at giving first insights into the interconnectedness of violent conflict, employment and underdevelopment. So far economists discussed these topics rather independently, which lead to shortcomings in analysis as well as in policy recommendations concerning development policy. By giving examples from his own research the author shows that an analysis of those three issues is necessary for a sustainable development. Dieser Aufsatz stellt erste Erkenntnisse zum Zusammenhang von gewaltsamem Konflikt, Beschäftigung und Unterentwicklung zusammenfassend dar. Bisher wurden diese drei Themenkomplexe in der Ökonomie selten gemeinsam diskutiert, was sowohl für die Analyse als auch für Empfehlung entwicklungspolitischer Maßnahmen nachteilig sein könnte. Durch Beispiele aus seiner eigenen Forschung illustriert der Autor, dass die Analyse aller drei Themenkomplexe notwendig für eine nachhaltige Entwicklungspolitik ist.
