Wie „ticken“ Kleinanleger auf dem Finanzmarkt? Einblicke in ein qualitatives Forschungsprojekt

Abstract: The situation of private investors in Germany is widely unexplored. In line with that fact, the paper analyses on the basis of the results of a qualitative sociological research project three essential dimensions of their investment practice. In a first step, we focus on the experienced investment advisory from the point of view of the advised, to analyse then the underlying information behavior of their investment decisions. In a final step we look at their tangible decision-making and financial skills. By doing so, we focus on typical problems and challenges facing private investors. Die Situation von Kleinanlegern* auf dem Finanzmarkt ist in Deutschland weitgehend unerforscht. Mit Blick darauf beleuchtet der folgende Beitrag auf Grundlage der Ergebnisse eines qualitativen soziologischen Forschungsprojekts drei wesentliche Dimensionen ihrer Anlagepraxis. Es geht erstens um die Anlageberatung aus der Perspektive von Kleinanlegern, zweitens um das ihren Anlageentscheidungen zugrundeliegende Informationsverhalten und drittens um die konkreten Praktiken der Entscheidungsfindung sowie die damit verbundenen finanziellen Kompetenzen. Im Fokus der Analyse stehen typische Herausforderungen und Probleme, mit denen Kleinanleger auf dem Finanzmarkt konfrontiert sind.
