Estimating the effect of vocational training programs on employment and wage: The case of Tunisia

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to estimate the impact of vocational training programs offered in Tunisia on employment and wage of individuals. The data we use come from a study carried out in Tunisia in 2001 by the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment on the graduates of the national vocational training. We use different econometric approaches as well as a parametric selection model to estimate the effect of these programs. The results show that the participation of individuals in training programs in Tunisia increases their probability to find a job and their monthly wage.
