Does Circular Economy Play a Key Role in Economic Growth?

Abstract: The effects of the circular economy are highly debated, and its conceptualization has been accompanied by several controversies among policy-makers and businesses. In this work, we give an empirical contribution to the debate by focusing on the association of the circular economy with some socio-economic variables showing that, regardless of the environmental benefits, measures in favour of the implementation of circular economy practices can significantly and directly contribute to economic growth.
