Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of structured digital mediation on writing skills and cultural engagement among learners of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) in Algerian middle schools. Grounded in the action-oriented approach and socio- constructivist theory, it examines the potential of information and communication technologies for education (ICT) within a collaborative pedagogical framework. A quasi-experimental design contrasted traditional instruction with a scenario based on the collaborative creation of an educational blog focused on Algerian cultural heritage. The methodology combined classroom observation, criteria-based analysis of learners’ written productions, and semi-structured interviews. Findings indicate a significant improvement in writing quality, increased learner engagement, and enhanced cultural awareness. The educational blog proved an effective mediation tool, supporting meaningful ICT integration in the FLE classroom.
