Interstitial materials for controlling thermal conductances across pressed metallic contacts

Applied Energy, 1984, vol. 16, issue 3, 175-191

Abstract: Previous investigations into the use of interstitial materials as a means of controlling the thermal conductances across metallic contacts are reviewed. The effectiveness of such interstitial materials, used in conjunction with various metallic joint base materials, is assessed. Factors, other than the thermal performance, which influence the choice of a suitable interstitial material are also discussed.
