Policies for the promotion of renewable energy in Poland

Abstract: The entry of Poland into the European Union will require significant adjustment processes in the energy sector. This paper gives an overview of the current electricity-industry restructuring approaches employed in the European Union and Poland, with a focus on the promotion of the use of renewable-energy sources for electricity generation, and it assesses the policy implications of the accession of Poland into the European Union.
