Abstract: With the improvement of anechoic and stealth technology, the sound level of ship radiated noise (SRn) has been continuously reduced, which has created a great obstacle to the accurate and efficient detection of ship radiated noise. To meet this challenge, a detection method of SRn based on differential double-coupled high-order Duffing oscillator system with additional square damping term (DDC-HDOS) is proposed. Firstly, under the classical Duffing oscillator model, double-coupled high-order Duffing oscillator system with additional square damping term (DC-HDOS) is proposed by introducing damping term and high-order nonlinear restoring force term. The construction process of the system is described, and the system is modeled by Simulink tool. By changing the signal amplitude, the system shows different nonlinear characteristics. Next, to improve the accuracy of the system threshold, threshold determination method based on the improved refined composite multiscale reverse fluctuation-based dispersion entropy and Poincaré section is proposed. Through performance verification experiments, it is proved that DC-HDOS is immune to white noise, and the minimum detectable signal-to-noise ratio threshold of the system is −72.38 dB. Then, aiming at the problem of unknown signal frequency detection, DDC-HDOS is constructed by combing two DC-HDOS in a differential form. The unknown signal frequency is detected by adaptively adjusting the system step size and combining the intermittent chaos phenomenon. Finally, analog signals and measured signals in different backgrounds are verified by experiment. When Gaussian white noise and Rayleigh distribution noise are used for detection, the results indicate that the average accuracy rate of the proposed detection method is 98.985 %. When three groups of measured signals are used for detection, the results indicate that the proposed detection method has higher recognition and superior detection performance, and the average accuracy rate is 99.1899 %.
