‘t Hooft ultimate building blocks and space–time as an infinite dimensional set of transfinite discrete points

Abstract: The note comments on various views expressed by ‘t Hooft regarding the exact nature of the geometry of space–time and the possibility or the impossibility of introducing a space–time made purely from discrete points. The role of E-infinity in clarifying this question is outlined.
