The viability of shale syncrude as feedstock in the Australian liquid-fuel sector

Abstract:
The viability of a shale syncrude as refining feedstock is determined by placing its value in the liquid-fuel sector where the syncrude competes with the other indigenous and foreign crudes. A number of scenarios relating to unleaded gasoline production, crude oil pricing, and new processing facilities was studied using a combined model of the Australian refining-transportation sector. The interrelationships between the variables in the scenarios were quantified.
