Abstract:
Using system dynamics methodology, we examine the effects of urbanization and industrialization on energy-related problems such as high energy demand, air pollution and traffic congestion at urban centres. Impacts of investment in the industrial sector are compared with those due to investment in other sectors and population growth over a period of 20 yr. Simulation results indicate that industrial investment is the major source of rise in energy demand and air pollution at Jaipur City. Population growth dominates the reasons for the rise in traffic congestion.
