Abstract:
A system has been developed for the analysis of vehicular fuel consumption. A digital-computer simulation model is used to estimate the fuel consumption of operating petrol-powered vehicles in Iraq under various conditions. The vehicles had 750–1410 kg gross weights. The fuel consumption is related to speed for different body types, loads, duty cycles, tire pressures, spark-ignition angles, engine capacities, passenger loads and windows. Our equations are compared with data derived from TRRL tests.
