Energy-efficiency improvements by joint operation of two DH systems using old condensing turbines

Energy, 1997, vol. 22, issue 11, 1099-1102
Abstract:
The design concept and optimization procedure are presented. The total heat load for both systems at peak conditions is estimated to be 1,216 MJ/s in 2001. The thermal power plant consists of six steam-condensing units with a total electric capacity of 1650 MWe at the generator terminals. It will be converted for CHP operation and will supply heat to both systems. The energy-efficiency improvements are maximised with CHP and system optimization.
