Abstract: In this work, the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the Co2VGa compound are investigated using the mean-field approximation (MFA). The analyzed parameters include the phase diagram, the effects of exchange interactions and crystal field on magnetization under an external magnetic field, as well as hysteresis loops and the magnetic entropy change. The results reveal a second-order magnetic transition from ferromagnetic to paramagnetic behavior at high temperature and a first-order magnetic transition at low temperatures. The hysteresis behavior shows an increase in coercivity with stronger exchange interactions and a decrease with rising temperature. The magnetic entropy change exhibits a maximum magnetocaloric effect around the critical temperature, while the relative cooling power (RCP) increases monotonically with magnetic field strength, suggesting that the Co2VGa compound is a promising candidate for magnetic refrigeration applications.
