Abstract:
With the advancement of communication technologies, an increasing amount of traffic information is being utilized to enhance the efficiency of road traffic. Regarding the different impacts of density information of the preceding and following road segment on the target vehicle, a new controlled lattice hydrodynamic model with different density information collaboration mechanisms is developed. This model simultaneously incorporates the predictive density change rate information of the preceding lattice and the density change rate information of the following lattice. Through linear and nonlinear analyses, the neutral stability conditions as well as the nonlinear density wave features of the new model are derived. It shows that both the predictive density change rate information of the preceding lattice and the density change rate information of the following lattice can enhance the stable level of traffic flow. Also, the unstable traffic propagates with the kink-antikink soliton form derived by the mKdV equation. Finally, the traffic features of the new model like the spatiotemporal evolution patterns of traffic flow, hysteresis loop, fuel consumption and pollutant emissions are exhibited via numerical simulation, and are consistent with the theoretical analysis results. It can provide suggestion for traffic information cooperative utilization in intelligent transportation systems environment.
