Predictive models of traffic-actuated cycle splits

Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, 1982, vol. 16, issue 5, 361-372

Abstract: A set of models have been developed for the estimation of average cycle splits resulting from a semi-actuated or a full-actuated signal control which employs motion detectors. The models alleviate the need to rely on computer simulation for estimating the traffic-actuated cycle splits. They also enhance the capability of traffic engineers in the planning, design and operation of signalized intersections.
