Abstract:
Three macroscopic mathematical models are presented and compared on the basis of real traffic data collected from the Boulevard Périphérique in Paris. All models include the conservation equation and a nonlinear, static, or dynamic volume-density relationship. Parameter estimation is effectuated for each model so as to reflect the characteristics of the particular application case considered. Sensitivity investigations for changed application conditions are included.
