Chapter 7 in Handbook of Experimental Finance, 2022, pp 73-88 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
We review the field of cognitive finance, which uses experimental methods to study the impact of individual cognitive skills on financial decision-making and market outcomes. The overview shows that cognitive skills play a central role in accounting for sound financial decisions and sustaining market efficiency. We conclude that finance is a cognitive science.
