Economic policy for our era: the Ohio experience

Roger W. Ferguson

Economic Commentary, 2000, issue May

Abstract: The economic revitalization of Northeast Ohio owes much to the globalization of business, which was itself made possible by a revolution in communications technology. The same revolution has reshaped the conduct of economic policy in the U.S. and abroad. In a speech at the City Club of Cleveland on May 11, Mr. Ferguson, vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, discussed Ohio's recovery and the role of economic policy in a communications era.
