Abstract:
?Asia and the Global Financial Crisis,? the first Asia Economic Policy Conference of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco?s Center for Pacific Basin Studies, examined the impact of the crisis on Asian nations and the responses of policymakers. Although nations in the region were deeply affected, they generally recovered more quickly and vigorously than the United States and European countries thanks to strong economic fundamentals and reforms enacted following financial crises in the 1990s.
