Abstract:
Studies on the existence and direction of the relationship between energy and economic growthhave increased in recent years. In particular, the correct use of energy is important in terms ofensuring energy security by evaluating limited energy resources in the right areas. This study, on theother hand, gives the theoretical information in the literature on energy and, in particular, naturalgas, and examines the effect of natural gas consumption of sectors on economic growth in terms ofTurkey. When the relationship between the natural gas consumption of the industrial sector andthe housing and services sector between 1987 and 2019 and the GDP development between thesame dates is analyzed in a graphic environment, a consistent trend is observed between the naturalgas consumption of the sectors and the GDP.
