The Effect of Entrepreneurship Course on Entrepreneurship Tendency: A Study on Vocational School Students

Abstract: In this study, the thoughts of the students who continue their education in Ondokuz Mayıs University Terme Vocational School about entrepreneurship and the course of change at the end of the entrepreneurship course are investigated in terms of demographic variables. In the study, a questionnaire was applied to examine the changes in the entrepreneurship tendencies of 116 students. Since both pre-test and post-test scores were normally distributed, paired t-test was used to compare pre-test and post-test scores; independent two-sample t-test was used to compare scores according to gender, mother's occupation; one-way ANOVA test was used to compare scores according to mother's education status, place of growing up, department of education, father's education status, father's occupation and family income status. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the entrepreneurship scale scores differed significantly according to the gender of the participants, and the entrepreneurship score of male participants was significantly higher than the score of female participants. At the same time, it was determined that the entrepreneurship scores did not differ significantly according to the department they studied, where they grew up, their mother's and father's education level, and their mother's and father's occupation. In addition, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the entrepreneurship scale, and the post-training entrepreneurship scale score was significantly higher than the pre-training score.
