Effects of Perceived Leadership Styles on Employee Performance and Emotional Intelligence

Abstract:
Today, leadership, employee performance, and emotional intelligence are extremely important issues in businesses. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of perceived leadership styles on employee performance and emotional intelligence. In this context, first of all, leadership, performance, and emotional intelligence issues are explained. Then, the relationship between leadership and employee performance, the relationship between emotional intelligence and employee performance, and the relationship between leadership and emotional intelligence were discussed. Finally, studies on the mediating role of emotional intelligence in the effect of perceived leadership styles on employee performance are mentioned. As a result, it was seen that leadership and performance have a significant interaction, there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and business performance, and there are positive relationships between leadership and emotional intelligence. It has been understood that emotional intelligence has a mediating effect on the effect of leadership on employee performance. This study is intended to provide guidance to leaders, employees, and readers and to contribute to the literature.
