Abstract: The study of the relationship between educational status and the development of demographic processes is an urgent research task, since this status has an important impact on demographic behavior of people in a wide variety of contexts and situations, life goals and preferred ways and ways to achieve them. The study of cohort effects and generational changes in the education statuses of the Russian population is the basis for understanding how demographic processes among generations are changing and will change, and also helps to determine the most effective ways to correct it for different groups of the population. The main aim of the research is to identify the characteristics of the relationship between different levels and aspects of education status, on the one hand, and the characteristics of the development of demographic processes, on the other hand. The methods we use are the microdata bases analysis of the sample studies and population censuses; APC-analysis (age-period-cohort) of cohort effects on the development of demographic processes; decomposition methods in demographic analysis. As a result of the study, an assessment was made of the characteristics of the relationship between mortality, fertility and population migration in Russia based on education status. An analysis of Russian interregional differences in the educational structure of the population and related demographic dynamics showed that local regional characteristics of fertility and mortality are often as important as the influence of educational status. For population migration, on the contrary, the educational factor acts practically the same way throughout Russia.
