The Analysis of Cultural Gaps in Translation and Solutions

Abstract: This paper is about cultural gaps and their translation. It compares the different cultural connotations of expressions in English and Chinese. First, it analyzes the following cases which are often found in translation- cultural background; non-equivalence; extension and intension; derivation. Then six methods are put forward to solve those above problems.
