Significant predictors of information technology innovation adoption

Abstract:
Organisations need to constantly adopt new technological innovations, in one way or another, in order to improve or keep their efficiencies or competitive advantages in business. The present study examines asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) technology adoption in universities to investigate if there is a significant relationship between ATM technology adoption and university size, type, finance and information processing maturity. The results provided significant evidence that there is a statistically significant relationship between each of these variables and ATM technology adoption in universities. Correspondingly, these organisational variables can serve as predictors of other IT adoptions in other settings, such as in firms or financial institutions.
