Abstract: The aim of the study was to develop and implement the instructional process integrated with strategic planning and lateral thinking approaches to enhance the innovation ability of chemistry undergraduate students. During the implementation, students spent all semester planning and developing their innovations in the Chemistry natural products course. The evaluation was conducted on both the product innovation and innovation process. The findings suggest that students can identify the target's problem and adopt the related chemistry knowledge for systematically designing the chemistry innovation with a suitable approach leading to efficient problem-solving innovation in chemistry with a high innovation ability. This instructional process provided context-rich learning experiences; enhanced innovation ability and understanding, skill, and the suitable way to learn the nature of chemistry.
