Abstract: Some useful conditions are explored for determining a renewal process from knowledge of the renewal function H ( t ) at values H ( h ), H (2 h ), … for some h > 0. Furthermore, these conditions are used for expressing H ( t ) as an infinite interpolation series involving H ( h ), H (2 h ), …. The results are useful for estimation problems in replacement and reliability involving attribute observations of renewal processes.
