Some New Statistical Techniques Applicable to Operations Research

Abstract: The task of describing new statistical methods which have potential use in operations research is not an easy one; many of you have attained a level of statistical knowledge to which I cannot pretend, and the field of statistics is expanding so rapidly that one could not hope to do justice to the topic in a short time. Consequently, rather than attempt to list the many developments which might be of interest, I will describe three methods which I have found of particular interest and usefulness. Operations Research , ISSN 0030-364X, was published as Journal of the Operations Research Society of America from 1952 to 1955 under ISSN 0096-3984.
