Abstract: Examples of operations analysis done for the United States Air Force are given, together with the author's conclusions as to conditions necessary for successful operations analysis, and an approach to a definition of the term. Operations Research , ISSN 0030-364X, was published as Journal of the Operations Research Society of America from 1952 to 1955 under ISSN 0096-3984.
