Abstract:
English: This report analyzes the evolution of mobility in Andalucía during the covid-19 pandemic using data from mobile phone network operators and a variety of open access data from emerging sources. The data suggest that mobility in Andalucía was significantly reduced during the 1st (March-June 2020) and 2nd (November-December 2020) waves of the pandemic, in line with the measures adopted at national (Spain) and regional (Andalucía) levels. Nevertheless, the relaxation of non-pharmaceutical measures during the Christmas/ New Year’s holiday period led to a rebound in mobility levels. The analysis at different spatial and temporal levels reveals varying patterns in the evolution of mobility depending on the size, degree of urbanization and economic structure of each municipality.
