Adaptive Capacity: Linking New Know-How to Innovation and Financial Performance in Late-Follower Firms

Steven White

No 79, Discussion Paper Series from Research Institute for Economics & Business Administration, Kobe University

Abstract: While the economic impact of technological innovation is arguably by the most important motivation behind research into conditions supporting it, most empirical firm-level studies use either knowledge out or adoption decisions rather than economic value-based measures to evaluate innovation performance. This paper addresses the relatively unexplored relationship between knowledge output or adoption and economic returns.
