Abstract:
An exclusive focus of the companies on the investment in phisycal resources is a sign of lack of vision and realism. More so in a digitalised contemporary society in which (i) the competitive advantages generated by capital and produces can be easily duplicated, cloned, modified and in which (ii) the authentic competitive advantage of a company is represented by the „knowledge worker”. The current practices of management show that all top companies have admitted the strategic importance of the human resources and have reconsidered the investment perspective towoards them. The article underlines the tendencies of the human resources management in the last two decades. Having to face the alternative, the security or angajability of human resources, companies choose to invest in the employees’ capabilities development. Based on this last dimension, the article approaches a few of the (i) types of forming and development of the individuals’ abbilities as members of the organization, as well as (ii) certain forms of the work force’s retention.
