Abstract: For all the talk about inequality these days, Robert Wade argues that little is done about it. He cites eight reasons. But perhaps the most important is that the center-left in country after country has bought into the prevailing neoclassical model that it is actually efficient economically. Wade says that for the sake of our futures, we had better change our tune.
