Dynamics in the size of population and formation of the regional labor potential (the case of the Vologda region)

M.A.Kopeykina

Journal "Region: Economics and Sociology", 2005, vol. 3

Abstract: In the Vologda region the population decline exceeds the national average. Its birth rate is half the replacement norm. The paper evaluates the dynamics of the size and sex-and-age composition of the region’s population. A general picture of possible changes in the region’s demographic situation under certain assumptions concerning the basic demographic processes such as natality, mortality and migration has been obtained.
